Dr. Sarolta K. Szabo, a board-certified Dermatologist, joins AboutSkin as a Dermatologist, Dermatologic Surgeon and Associate Director for Clinical Research. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Her interests include medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology as well as cutaneous oncology.

Dr. Szabo completed her internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She received many distinguished awards during her residency, including one from the National Institute of Health. She also received an award of excellence in dermatopathology at the annual meeting of the American Society for Dermatopathology. During her final year of residency, she was appointed to the leadership role of Academic Chief Resident. During her tenure, she developed and led a dermatology teaching program for dermatology residents, internal medicine residents and medical students, in addition to organizing citywide conferences.

Dr. Szabo graduated Cum Laude in 1995 from Albert Szent-Gyorgyi Medical University in Hungary. During her medical studies she achieved academic honors, and was granted with numerous awards. In addition to her medical training in Hungary, she also studied medicine in the United States, Sweden, England, Germany, Portugal and Greece.

After her completing her medical training in Hungary, Dr. Szabo conducted 2 years of basic dermatological research and 2 years of clinical research at Case Western in Cleveland. During that time, she participated as co-investigator in more than 15 clinical trials. These trials focused on treatments for cutaneous lymphoma, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, warts and hair loss. At AboutSkin Dermatology and DermSurgery, she continues to conduct research projects on dermatologic therapy and cosmetic treatments. As an experienced researcher, Dr. Szabo is a published author in scientific journals and textbooks. In addition, she is a national lecturer and a reviewer of peer-reviewed professional dermatology publications including the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.

Dr Szabo lives in Highlands Ranch with her husband, Darin and their son, Symon. She is an outdoor enthusiast. Her outside interests include playing with her son, running, tennis, hiking, skiing and yoga. She also enjoys traveling, art and music.
