J. Daniel Jensen, MD is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and is Fellowship-trained in Mohs surgery, aesthetic dermatology, and the treatment of varicose vein disease. He attended Brigham Young University, where he graduated with University Honors and studied Biochemistry and Portuguese. He then returned to his home in Colorado, where he graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Jensen completed his dermatology residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama.
After residency training, Dr. Jensen was selected for the highly sought-after fellowship training program in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Aesthetic Dermatology at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, California. During his fellowship, Dr. Jensen learned state of the art techniques in skin cancer treatment and reconstructive surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Hugh Greenway (who was trained by Dr. Frederic Mohs, who developed Mohs surgery). Dr. Jensen also trained under Dr. Victor Ross, one of the foremost experts in the world in aesthetic laser surgery, where he learned advanced laser and cosmetic techniques using over 40 lasers and devices. In addition, Dr. Jensen trained under pioneering cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Leland Housman at one of the busiest vein clinics in the United States, learning the latest minimally-invasive techniques to effectively treat varicose and spider veins.
Dr. Jensen is an active speaker, author and researcher, and has published over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and research abstracts/posters. He has presented his research at national and international meetings, and actively participates in clinical research on the latest surgical, aesthetic, laser, and vein treatments.
In his free time, Dr. Jensen enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys the outdoors, fitness activities, reading, and playing the piano and guitar.
